CV - Stef Pillaert

Stef Pillaert is the principal euphoniumplayer of Brass Band Willebroek. With this orchestra he has already won several national and international contests. In 1993 he won the European Brass championships with this band. As a soloist he won many national and international contests. He was three times the best performer at the Open Dutch Brassbandchampionships and he won the soloist prize at the Survento Festival. Nowadays Stef regularly performs as a soloist in Belgium and abroad. He performed in the Royal Albert Hall in London during the National British Brassband championships and on the International Tuba-Euphonium Conferences in Birmingham and Manchester. He also was a guest soloist at the European Brassband Championship at the Palais de beaux arts in Brussels. Beside all this he is also a member of the Flanders Tuba Quartet. Stef achieved the highest award in his studies of chamber music, euphonium and musical theory. Stef also became a professional engineer and teaches at the KAHO Sint Lieven in Ghent.
