Brassband Willebroek behaalde een 2de plaats op de All England Masters International Brass Band Championship 2016 in het Lighthouse Theatre te Kettering (UK). Het is een persoonlijk beste resultaat voor de band op deze wedstrijd, principal cornet Lode Violet werd beloond met de '4Barsrest Best Instrumentalist Award'.
Na een afwezigheid van 2 jaar besloot de band om zich in het voorjaar toe te leggen op de All England Masters International. De wedstrijd die aan haar 27ste editie toe was, kende dit jaar een terugval in deelnemers. In totaal meldde zich 13 bands die allemaal hun eigen interpretatie gaven aan het plichtwerk Cambridge Variations van Philip Sparke.
Geloot als 10de band mocht BBW rond 13u50 (Engelse tijd) het podium op. Engelse pers waren zeer lovend:

Unaniem, door 4barsrest en British Bandsman, werd Brassband Willebroek voorspeld op de eerste plaats, het zou de eerst niet-Britse band zijn die deze wedstrijd won, maar daar besliste de juryleden Stephen Roberts & Stan Lippeatt anders over. Virtuosi GUS o.l.v. Adam Cooke won het kampioenschap en BBW werd tweede, volgens de juryleden was het een 'close call'. Lode Violet werd beloond met de '4barsrest Best Instrumentalist Award' voor zijn uitvoering van de cornet solo in het plichtwerk.
